The way our town is growing isn’t working and it’s costing us a lot. A group of Kingsville citizens is coming together to fix it.
Strong Towns is a member-powered movement to fix how we build our towns and cities.
The way we’ve been doing it since World War II, with lots of suburbs and sprawl, isn’t working—it’s too expensive, falls apart easily and makes it hard to get around without a car.
We want Kingsville to be safe, nice to live in, and welcoming for everyone.
We know that engaged citizens working together in their own community is the best way to make things better.

Make Streets Safe and Productive
Kingsville streets should focus on keeping people safe and helping businesses grow, instead of just letting cars zoom through.
Build Step by Step
Every neighborhood in Kingsville should be allowed to add a little more housing, one small step at a time, without needing special permission. This is a better way to grow than large housing development projects.
Take Care Of What We Already Have
Use the space and buildings we already have in the downtown core instead of sprawling out into farmland and nature. Help our remaining natural environment flourish – it is our life support system.
End Parking Mandates
We want to stop rules that force businesses to build parking lots for cars. That land could be used for better things, like shops or homes.
Stop Building Big Roads
Big roads wreck local businesses and make towns go broke. They are causing problems, so let’s quit building them.
Show Clear Town Budgets
We want the local government to share their financial details in a way that’s easy to understand. This will show how much the Suburban Experiment is actually costing us.
Strong Towns is a nonprofit advocating for financially resilient, walkable, mixed-use communities to replace unsustainable suburban sprawl.
With over 280 local groups across North America, Strong Towns shapes local policies and public discussion through grassroots engagement and education.
